Nissan is all ready to bring its Godzilla, the 2017 GT-R in India on November 9. The GT-R, unlike all other Italian and European machines, looks much relaxed and claims a different territory. It was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo while the bookings are open from a long time now. As per Nissan’s claim, the 2017 year update is the most important one since its launch in 2007.
Improvements can be seen in every possible way, making the car even more fun to drive on the Indian roads. It comes with a 3.8 L, twin turbo V6 engine producing 570 PS and 637 Nm of torque. According to Maxabout, the values were 553 PS and 628 Nm for the 2016 variant. It comes mated to a 6-speed dual clutch transmission. These improvements may seem small on paper while the impact on driving nature can be simply experienced on the new car. The major difference on the new GT-R can be felt on its chassis and suspension.
The handling and cornering ability of the GT-R is said to be more refined than the older version, which indirectly helps the car to perform faster around the closed tracks. The changes can even be seen on the exterior of the car, using the new V-Motion grill from the Nissan family. The revised interior, along with a new dashboard and 8 inch infotainment unit makes it even more interesting from the inside.
GT-R is expected to carry a sub 2 Crore price tag for the Indian market. The higher price tag is all due to the heavy rate of taxes on imports as the car will be bought as CBU (completely built unit) only. The pre booking deposit is said to be INR 25 lakh while the waiting time could be confirmed at the time of placing the order.
