2017 Hyundai Grand i10 was recently launched for a starting price of INR 4.58 lakh. The car comes out as a face-lift for the popular and peppy hatchback in the Hyundai lineup. The petrol model gets visual updates while the diesel features an all new 1.2 liter engine. Top spec Hyundai Grand i10 costs INR 7.33 lakh and comes out to be more expensive than the old gen model by a small margin. The base variant has even gone down with its pricing.
According to Maxabout, Hyundai even undercuts the pricing of the recently launched Maruti Ignis by INR 1,000. Even though both the brands have separate fan followings, the move was specially planned for getting an advantage in the pricing scheme. Hyundai Grand i10 now gets an updated front fascia, adding few bits like LED daytime running lights, redesigned grill and air intakes in its boomerang shaped fog lamp assembly.
Hyundai provides the new Grand i10 with premium equipment like reverse parking camera with sensors and 7 inch touchscreen infotainment with Mirrorlink, Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The Sportz variant even now comes with a 5 inch touchscreen AVN. They has placed the Asta variant as the new flagship while Sportz now even comes with an optional variant. Grand i10 retains the dual tone Black and Beige interior from the previous generation.
The car is powered by the same 1.2 liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine that is good for 81.9 BHP at 6000 rpm and 113.7 Nm at 4000 rpm. The engine comes with an option between 5-speed manual and automatic gearbox, returning a certified mileage of 19.77 kmpl and 17.49 kmpl respectively. The new 1.2 liter, 3-cylinder diesel motor is good for 75 PS at 4000 rpm and 190 Nm at 1750-2250 rpm. It offers just 5-speed manual gearbox and claimed mileage of 24 kmpl.
