Toyota India will launch its new Fortuner SUV in the country on November 7. The car maker was bearing the losses due to no sales of its above 2000cc cars in Delhi from last eight months. Since the ban has been removed, Toyota is free to launch the Fortuner in the coming days. Test mule of the 2016 Fortuner has been spotted testing recently in the country, strengthening the fact with a totally valid proof.
The car features the same engines being used in the Toyota Innova Crysta, extending the off-road capability by the use of an AWD (All Wheel Drive) system and more power output with a better tune. Not just that, the new Fortuner will feature an upmarket design which is totally different from the current generation’s bolder design. It will feature more luxury and utility through its leather wrapped interiors, commanding seat position and use of more practical equipment list.
The new Fortuner is longer than the current generation by 90 mm while its width has also increased by 15 mm. It is currently on sale in ASEAN, Middle East and Australian regions. Traction control system, Downhill Assist Control and many more features would make the new Fortuner one of the best options in the SUV segment. It will feature front, side and even driver knee protection airbags in the topmost trim. According to Maxabout, if the prices for the Innova Crysta are to be considered, the new Fortuner may start from around INR 25 lakh and the top variant can be expected to cross the INR 30 lakh mark (Ex-showroom Delhi).
